Ø Renounce – Actions, Thoughts and Vasanas (310-319)
Ø He alone, who has identified himself with the body, is greedy of sense-pleasures. How can one, devoid of the body-idea be greedy? Hence, the tendency to renunciate oversense-objects is,indeed, the cause for the “bondage of becoming”, and the idea of distinction or duality(311)
Ø When the ‘effects’ are flourishing, the ‘seeds’are alsoobserved toincrease. When the ‘effects’ are destroyed, the ‘seeds’ are also destroyed. Therefore, the ‘effect’must be subdued(312)
Ø Through the increase of vasanas, egocentric “work” increases, and when there is an increase of egocentric “work”, thereis an increase of Vasanas also. Thus, man’s transmigration never comes to an end(313)
Ø In order to snap the chain oftransmigration, one should burn to ashes these two, for thinking ofsense-objects and doing selfish action lead to increase of vasanas(314)There are two main causes forthe increase of vasanasL1) continuous thinking of the sense-objects, and (2)acting upon the sense-objects in the world outside.
Ø Augmented bythese two, the vasanas produce one’s transmigration. These three, however, are destroyed by looking upon everything under all circumstances, always, everywhere, and in all respects, as Brahman and Brahman alone. Through the strengthening of the longing to be one with Brahman, these three will be annihilated(315-316)
Ø With the end of selfish actions, brooding over sense-objects ends which is followed by destruction of vasanas. The destruction of vasanas is liberation, and this is considered as Liberation-inLife(317)
Ø When the longing to be one with Brahman has vividly risen to expression, the ego-centric vasanas will readily disappear,as the most intense darkness completely disappears in the glow of the rising sun(318)
Ø Darkness and its resultant evils are not noticed when the sun rises. So too, on realisation of Bliss Absolute, there is neithe rbondage nor the least trace of misery(319)
